Menopause

Our Philosophy

At the Menopause Center, we believe that menopause is a natural transition. The overwhelming majority of women experience menopause without significant physical or psychological distress. However, a smaller group of women fined this passage difficult because their symptoms of hormonal deficiency are more severe. If you’re in the former group of women, a consultation with one of our physicians will answer and support healthy behaviors. If you’re having menopause related issues, we can provide diagnostic and treatment options to restore well-being and establish ongoing balance.

The Process

Our work together will begin with an extensive questionnaire and an in-depth consultation. By understanding your health, psychological, family and spiritual history, we can give context to any difficulties you may be experiencing in the midlife transition. Adaptive behaviors that worked well in the past may no longer be effective. We’ll develop an inventory of strengths and weaknesses, and will place special emphasis on wellness and coping strategies.

Treatment

Together, we’ll develop a treatment plan tailored specifically for your particular circumstances, lifestyle, health status and preferences. The plan will be designed to support strengths and buoy up weaknesses. Old difficulties must be identified and managed, and we’ll consider and explore new symptoms and develop treatment options. We will look at the risks and benefits of hormone therapy and will consider the impact that other medical, surgical or psychological issues have on your menopause transition. We’ll complete a document, The Menopause Planner, to serve as a road map for your midlife transition.

Through our partnership, we will maximize your midlife health and well-being.
