Women's Care Takes Healthy Message to the Workplace
In our continuing effort to create a better informed, healthier community, Women’s Care is bringing health information to the workplace. In recent months, we’ve participated in on-site employee health fairs sponsored by employers including EWEB, Hyundai, Symantec, Weyerhaeuser, and the US Forest Service in Oakridge.
We bring educational materials on topics including menopause, osteoporosis, mammography, prenatal health and breast self-exams. The health fairs also give us an opportunity to highlight the subspecialty services that set Women’s Care apart in our community-services such as an imaging center, lactation services, midwifery, and an infertility center.
Miffy Davis, a registered nurse specially trained in breast self-exams, attends the health fairs and uses a life-sized breast model to teach techniques for monthly exams. Women’s Care physicians are also on hand to answer questions.
By special request, we can conduct bone density screenings at a reduced rate of $25 per person. We can also provide physicians to speak on many topics related to women’s health.
