Miffy Davis, RN, IBCLC has worked in the maternal child health care field for 32 years – the last 25 dedicated to lactation support and breast health at Women’s Care. Serving women as they learn to breast their newborn is her passion. Her nursing skills also allow her to care for women in the high risk prenatal clinic, urodynamic studies and in office hysteroscopy program.
She developed a high school program which allowed students access to information directly from physicians regarding breast self-exam, testicular self-exam and pelvic exams. For ten years this program reached high school students throughout Lane County. This program was featured several times in local newspapers and area television news stations.
Teaching breast self-exam to women has been another area of interest and for 15 years Miffy was a guest speaker at civic groups, job site health fairs and breast cancer awareness events.
Speaking engagements include Weyerhaeuser, Sony, U of O, Face it Salon, and several small businesses.
Miffy grows in knowledge and understanding of lactation as she stays current on research based information.
