Women’s Care Joins Cancer Care Alliance, Participates in Research Fundraisers

Women’s Care is a proud member of the Northwest Specialty Clinics’ Cancer Care Alliance, an organization of 50 Eugene/Springfield specialists with a shared vision for improving cancer care in our community. With the Cancer Care Alliance, Women’s Care participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in August to help support cancer research. Women’s Care physicians and staff presented information and discussed breast cancer screening and fertility preservation with visitors.

Thanks to Women’s Care physician Melissa Edwards, MD, who generously sponsored staff to run the Eugene Women’s Half Marathon. Twenty-two employees and physicians participated in the marathon to support ovarian cancer research. Also, several Women’s Care employees ran the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in October to support breast cancer research.

Many thanks to the following Eugene businesses for generously donating gift cards that were included in baskets we raffled to support Relay for Life fundraising: Euphoria Chocolate, Freudian Slip lingerie and gifts, and Ring of Fire/Lucky Noodle restaurants.
