Born and raised in Aurora, Colorado, Dr. Mattern moved to Athens, Georgia to attend the University of Georgia and was a member of the women’s swim team. She attended the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University where she earned her medical degree and completed her residency at the Memorial Health University Medical Center. 

Dr. Mattern chose to specialize in women’s health care because she enjoys being able to build strong, long-lasting relationships with her patients and be a part of different stages of their lives. She also loves the combination of clinical and surgical care that women’s health offers. 

Dr. Mattern specializes in low-risk pregnancy and areas of complex pregnancy care. Her gynecological interests include abnormal uterine bleeding, menopause, infertility, and contraceptive management. Dr. Mattern is able to perform minimally invasive surgery with robotic hysterectomies, fibroid surgery, hysteroscopic procedures, sterilization procedures and benign ovarian cyst management.

In her free time, Dr. Mattern enjoys spending time with her new baby, Ellie, going on walks, enjoying time outdoors, reading, baking and traveling. 

Dr. Mattern, along with her husband, Andrew, and daughter, Ellie, are excited to be closer to family and experience all the beautiful nature Oregon has to offer.
