Breast Health and Mammograms
Mammograms can save your life. They allow detection of breast cancer LONG BEFORE it can be felt by you or your Women’s Care provider.
Women’s Care is proud to offer quality, computer-aided mammograms performed at the Country Club and Riverbend locations. We strive to ensure that mammograms are performed with quality and gentleness.
Breast Lumps & Masses
We take breast masses very seriously.
We provide quality, comfortable digital mammography services and can connect to rapid breast ultrasound and diagnostic mammography. Treatment for breast masses is based on these results.
Women’s Care is devoted to providing our patients with the best breast care possible. If you feel a concerning lump or mass, make an appointment so we can see you as quickly as possible.
FAQs
What is the recommended age for mammograms?
40, unless you have a strong family history of breast cancer in your 1st-degree family (mother or sister). It is recommended to start 10 years before the age at which your youngest relative was diagnosed.
How should I prepare for a mammogram?
Do not wear any deodorant, powders or lotions on the day of your appointment. We recommend wearing a two-piece outfit for convenience.
How frequently should I get a mammogram?
We recommend scheduling one mammogram every year.
Are mammograms painful?
While every experience is different, your mammogram should not be painful. Please let your mammogram tech know if you are experiencing any discomfort.
