The Importance of Community in Parenthood
“There is no such thing as a perfect parent, so just be a real one.” – Sue Atkins
Becoming a parent can be one of life’s greatest joys. Whether it’s your first baby or you’re adding another little one to your family, the mix of emotions—excitement, uncertainty, and even a little fear—can feel overwhelming. That’s where classes like the ones offered at Women’s Care make a difference; providing more than just information, but support, flexibility, connection, and confidence.
What are the classes?
Women’s Care offers virtual, accessible, and informative classes on Childbirth, Breastfeeding, and Newborn Baby Care. All the classes are led by experienced educators, who provide advice, knowledge, and handouts that will help any parent feel confident in their parenting journey. The classes allow for greater flexibility, with classes occurring once to twice a month, and can be done from the comfort of your own home. Women’s Care is proud to offer all three classes for free to Women’s Care patients.
Why does Women’s Care offer these classes?
Women’s Care believes in empowering our patients with the knowledge and support they need when preparing to navigate parenthood. Every step of the journey can be exciting, especially when provided with information on how to best prepare for a new baby.
These classes also provide a space for parents to build a sense of community amongst other parents! Parenthood, especially in the early days, can sometimes feel isolating, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Through these classes, connecting with the educator and the other parents who are going through the same journey, provides a space for all to share any questions, concerns, and those parenting wins.
Where can I find these classes?
Women’s Care offers these classes on our website! Under “Resources,” you can find all the information for each class, depending on what best suits your parenting needs. If there are any handouts provided by educators, there are links to each resource under the corresponding class. Some of the classes are recorded for any parents who have missed a class but still want to learn.
At the end of the day, these classes aren’t just about learning—they’re about building confidence and community. Parenthood is a big adventure, but with the support, knowledge, and convenience of Women’s Care’s virtual classes, we hope that you feel empowered and ready to take on this exciting journey!
