Devon Vandewiele, NP

Starts September 8th at Eugene: The Ten Coburg

Devon Vandewiele joins Women’s Care with over 10 years of women’s health experience, initially as a labor and delivery nurse and for the last five years as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Science of Nursing from San Diego State University and a Master’s degree in Certified Nurse Midwifery and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from Frontier Nursing University.

Before joining Women’s Care, she worked as a labor and delivery nurse for six years, which inspired her to return to school to become a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Practitioner, as she desired to become a stronger advocate for women and patients throughout all stages of life from puberty and pregnancy to postpartum, perimenopause, and menopause.

Devon Vandewiels’s philosophy when taking care of patients is she “believes that when patients are educated and empowered, they are best equipped to make informed decisions and take an active role in their own health.”

Devon Vandewiele enjoys providing care to women and patients at all stages, but is most passionate about family planning, including contraception, preconception counseling, pregnancy and postpartum care. She “love(s) partnering with patients to help them achieve their reproductive goals and provides evidence-based, compassionate care every step of the way.”

Outside of work, Devon Vandewiele enjoys being outdoors, especially hiking and spending time near the water. She is also an avid yogi and has been practicing yoga regularly for the past 12 years.

Devon Vandewiele is originally from Lake Tahoe, California, but most recently lived in the San Francisco Bay Area where she worked in Gynecology at Stanford, and previously worked as a Certified Nurse Midwife at a freestanding, out-of-hopspital birth center in San Francisco. She is excited to relocate to the beautiful nature that surrounds Eugene and become a part of the community here.
